Moving through Grief with Art

The Artists’ Grief Deck is a tool developed by local artist, educator and end-of-life doula Adriene Jenik in collaboration with Artists’ Literacies Institute (ALI). In response to the COVID pandemic and a recognized unmet need for grief support during a time of physical distancing, Jenik and ALI crowd-sourced artwork and grief “prompts” to make the deck (which was first published in Dec 2020) to assist people from all ages and backgrounds to move with and through grief.

Offered as part of the Chasing Ghosts programming, this brief gathering/workshop by Jenik will relate the story of the Artists’ Grief Deck and her work as an end-of-life doula, and will lead the group in an art-making exercise inspired by the deck.
