Saskia Jordá works in a variety of media to create installations and experiences that examine themes of geography, migration, and cultural identity. This exhibition features a grouping of suspended bird and kite-like objects, installed high in the airy gallery space yet anchored to the building. In Tethered, Jordá simultaneously juxtaposes feelings of flight and constraint, lightness and weight, hope and longing – while exploring the visible and invisible connections to place and to familial bonds.

Cruising: The Lowrider Art Exhibit celebrates not only the culture but the artistic merits of the people who design and build these beautiful cars. With each pin-stripe and air brush flourish a new story is told. The artwork in this exhibitions spans a variety of genres including photography, painted vehicles, and graffiti, and shows the deep influence of low rider culture in Arizona. 

Do you have an interest in art and nature? Express your artistic side by creating watercolor paintings inspired by natural objects. Bring in your favorite leaves, flowers, sea shells…any piece of nature that you would like to use as reference! Participants will learn basic watercolor techniques in this beginner-friendly class.
