In Familiar Territory, artist Jacob Meders (Mechoopda-Maidu) updates 20th century prints depicting glorified moments from westward expansion, a historical period often romanticized from a white perspective. Meders' work centers an Indigenous viewpoint and asks viewers to reconsider the story they think they know.

Make and Take: Felted Sunsets

This activity is inspired by our current exhibition, Textures of Arizona at the Chandler Center for the Arts. Use colorful wool roving to create a fiber art "painting" depicting the beauty of our state. This is a free activity for all ages.
